I have a pet dog ( cocker spaniel/bishon frisée mix if that helps lol)and he randomly starts shaking, he tenses up and starts wheezing. My parents think it might be athsma but none of us really know what it is. He is an older dog, about 9 years old, so maybe its just a sign of getting older. I'm worried about him, he's been doing that for a while...

Cocker Spaniels are inclined towards heart problems, the fact that he is a mix may give him extra strength in that area, but he really does need to see a vet to make sure.
Whatever the problem, the earlier he is seen, the more successful any treatment is likely to be.
Hope that helps and the best of luck to you and your dog. [ isis's advice column | Ask isis A Question ]

They can help you to decide whether or not your dog is healthy or has anything wrong with him. That way you can get rid of your anxiety. I would say the best thing for you to do is google "toy breeds wheezing" and then "toy breeds shaking" You would be suprised at how much information you will come up with.
