i dont think your mom has to know but if she does than who cares as long as your not being stupid and not wanting birth control.plus your doctor has to keep stuff confiedential, thats her job to help you not to be a blabber mouth. ]
Three words...
Doctor patient confidentiality!
Even though your doctor knows your mom, she cannot BY LAW tell your mom anything that is confidentially between you and your doctor.
Simple as that.
Doctor patient confidentiality is a serious thing. A doctor could lose their license to practice for breaking it.
I would be careful, though. Something like that could show up on the insurance bill, so stress those concerns to your doctor.
If that doesn't work for you, there is always planned parenthood. They offer free and confidential birth control.
Good luck! ]
You don't have to get birth control from your family doctor. You can get it from a health department or clinic. However if you want to get birth control from your doctor, mention it to your mom. I know what I said probably just freaked you out, but you don't have to tell her that you want to go on birth control to keep you from becoming pregnant. Tell her that you want to go on it because of personal reasons. Like your period for instance. Tell her your period is heavy and irregular and you heard going on birth control will regulate your cycle and lighten the flow. Keep in mind though, if the doctor asks if you have had sex you have to answer truthfully. I'm pretty sure doctors aren't allowed to tell parents anything if you ask them not to. You can even ask to go back by yourself and keep your mom in the waiting room. ]
well your doctor is a girl right?? well maybe you should just give it a shot. and if it does become a concern with your mother than maybe you could just explain to her that you would feel more comfortable on birth control. like i said they are both woman so they should understand, expecially a doctor...maybe you could talk to her about reasoning with mom. just be calm about it, let me know if i helped. ]
you should just get a diff doctor

Hey,
umm... First of all, i am gonna answer that question for you, and yes that means your mom is going to know.
But you don't have to go to that doctor,or let your mother know about it,so why don't you just go to a different doctor, and pay the fees from your own money. ]
Im pretty sure you can go to planned parenthood, or something like that.. and they can keep it confedential from your parents and family. ]
