I (13) share a master bedroom with my sister(17). I want to decorate the room. It's diffcult for us to agree on ant thing since we're so diffrent. How should I decorate if she can't agree on any thing?
idreamoftiaras answered Wednesday August 23 2006, 9:45 am: hi, why not go realy minimalist. like paint the walls a nice cream. i mean she cnt disagree with that. and then pick a colour you both like (browns work well.) kind of go for neutral colours. because their so simple its hard to hate a minimalist room. keep it simple but bring in your personalities through other items like bed sheets lamps etc
if all else fails put up a chineese style folding screen to seperate the room or you could a pice of fabric or a bline works well. hop it helps [ idreamoftiaras's advice column | Ask idreamoftiaras A Question ]

She shouldn't have any say in it because that room is half yours too and you should be able to express your individuality in the room. Hope I helped you. BlahBlahBlah answered Monday July 10 2006, 4:41 pm: you could divide the room and each of you could decoratte your own half of the room. Or you could each pick like a color and make it more of a colored theme room (like pink and green)

However, if you decide to do the 'half and half' tip that the users below suggested, make sure that its colors that look good together. Not like, red and green, yellow and brown, ect. It's hard to agree with your siblings. Just make sure not to argue with her. Everything will turn out okay. Don't fret.

I also think you should just decorate your half how you want && hers the way she wants..Just have a limit on where to stop.. [ ThugGirl041790's advice column | Ask ThugGirl041790 A Question ]

x0xfabulous0x answered Sunday July 9 2006, 8:31 am: Hey! I am going to give you an idea like my room because I think that its easy for two people to agree on. When we painted my room we divided each wall into two halves ( we did top and bottom but you can split it anyway you want) then I painted the top half one color and the bottom another. Then this way you each get to pick one color you like. After that you take off the tape and you will be left with a white strip or a strip from whatever color your wall was before since the tape covered it. From there you could do a few things - paint it a third color, put a border around the strip, or do what I am going to have done and put in crown molding. It will look pretty and then both of you get your way. Good luck

Vikki27 answered Sunday July 9 2006, 7:40 am: I know how you feel. My twin sister and I used to share a bedroom and we couldn't agree on ANYTHING.
The best thing I can recommend is that you get some snacks together (a peace offering!) and sit down with them to work out what sort of ideas you both had in mind. Then find a way to compromise. For example, if you wanted pink and she wanted black. Do pink along the top half of the bedroom and black along the bottom half, separated with a border.
If that doesn't work, split the room in half. Decorate your half of the room however you like and she can do her half however she likes. That way you both get what you want. [ Vikki27's advice column | Ask Vikki27 A Question ]
