The Sims 2 and The Sims 2 Nightlife

Question Posted Friday July 7 2006, 1:18 pm

hey well last night i installed the sims 2 along with the sims 2 nightlife. my computer has a big memory so i guess i could put lots of stuff in it. the thing is when i started to play the neighboorhoods were loading so slow .. actually EVERYTHING was loading slow .. i'm not sure why this happens because when i use the internet my computer loads fast. I have limewire and have about 400+ songs in it so i was wondering maybe that's one of the problems that my sims game is loading so slow? please help .. i rate 5's. Thank You

The Sims 2 is always like that, but what you can do is close background tasks to make it run faster. Open task manager (Ctrl + alt + delete <-not backspace- twice) and click on the tab that says Processes. Using the end process button you can remove most programs (it's temporary) such as Ipodservice.exe or most programs. Do not delete:

IEXPLORE.EXE (it's the start menu)
explorer.exe
lsass.exe
System
System Idle Process
winlogon.exe

Other than that, End everything else and it should run faster.

I love that game and a lot my time is spent waiting for it to load instead of playing it, its just the game. Although it could be the computer, check the memory space on it. If its full, well then delete some of the old games you never play anymore or something, let me know how nightlife goes! I really want that game but instead I got the Official Game Guide and told my mom I would wait a year till I could get the add-ons. Hope this helps!

Most likely your computer is out of memory space, or has some viruses that is making it run so slow!
