Yes, lemon juice main lighten the hair but it also may damage it in the process. Try going to the store. There is a product down the hair care isle called Sun In hair lightener spray. Its pretty much the same effect as lemon juice but its actually made for hair. It conditions in the process. I think its about 3$. [ spoiledandtoxic's advice column | Ask spoiledandtoxic A Question ]
sHakeitOff answered Friday July 7 2006, 12:55 pm: supposedly it lightens your hair, but make sure you shampoo and condition before you do it because if the lemon juice gets to the roots of your hair, the hair will become brittle and break =[ [ sHakeitOff's advice column | Ask sHakeitOff A Question ]
Moop answered Friday July 7 2006, 11:17 am: if you use it near your roots they become brittle and your hair breaks. it's irreversible damage. otherwise your hair just lightens. you can also use it on fabric. [ Moop's advice column | Ask Moop A Question ]

Becareful, as lemon juice is acidic and will dry out hair. Make sure you shampoo and condition thoroughly if you are going to do it. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
