All straighteners will damage your hair over time, so always use heat protection sprays etc.
The best straighteners are those with solid ceramic plates. They cause less damage and give better results! Metal plates dry out the hair. Avoid those.

from what i've heard, Chi's are good. but all straighteners are going to damage your hair over time. I have a Helen of Troy. It works really well but I have thinner hair. It only cost about 40 $ but Chi's are really expensive.

any product you really get is going to damage your hair. it can fry your hair if you use it way to much. and you get split ends so no product will really not damage your hair. and chi is one of the better ones. and its over 40$ so yeah.

A good hair straightener isn't under $40, so I think you should save up more money to buy a good quality one. The Chi hair straightener is what I've been using for about two years and I've never had a problem with it. My hair hasn't been damaged at all by it. The bad thing is, it cost about $200. In my opinion, it was worth it.
