Hi. I am a Cheerleader and i was wondering if anyone has any tips or things to do to jump higher. I need to learn how to jump higher so anyone could anwer this as long as you do somthing with jumping such as track, basketball, ect. Please anwer. My jumps are pretty bad because im not jumping very high so if anyone has anything for me to do please tell me.
kckstartmyheart answered Monday July 17 2006, 5:17 pm: i am a dancer and cheerleader so i can help you out. well what i did to make my jumps better was to start on my toes and swing your arms and when they reach exactly the pointe were there about to go up bend down and push off. aslo do certain leg strengthing exercises to strengthin your legs to jump higher. such as squats, jumping jacks, or anything thats a simple excersise. hope i helped!

Melody answered Monday July 10 2006, 10:21 pm: I as well am a cheerleader and have fairly decent jumps. I know one stretch that will help your jumping (especially your toetouches) and will help your flexibility in the air.
They are called leg rolls.
1. Sit on the floor with your legs spread. Place your left hand in front, and right hand behind you.
2. Keep your back straight and raise one leg. Roll your leg in a backwards motion 10 times. Then do the other leg.
3. After doing both legs, pull both up at the same time and roll them together.
