Question Posted Thursday June 29 2006, 1:20 am

I was in my room and I heard a weird noise coming from my cat. He was in the litter box, puking and then he took a really hard shit. I opened the door and saw him like falling over. Is something wrong with him? He's kinda really old. I want my kitten to stay away from him but he always attacks him. Is there something wrong with my kitteh?

That makes no sense, but I'm taking it that you have two cats. If the old one is puking and taking a "hard shit" take it to sleep....it's getting old and help the cat...you don't want it to be in pain. Problem Solved...sorry

It does sound as though he needs to see a vet as soon as possible. Is he looking thin around the waist area? Is he drinking more than normal? If the answer is yes, and he is falling over, it could be that his kidneys have started to fail. If this is the case, he could still go on for a while longer, cats can manage with quite a large loss of kidney function. There is also a possibility that it is his thyroid playing up.
I don't know if you mean the kitten is doing the attacking or if it is the older cat. If it is the kitten, it could be that the kitten is noticing the older cat is no longer able to be 'top cat' and is looking to assert itself in that position. If it is the older cat that is doing the attacking, this could be due to its failing health and wanting to keep the kitten at a distance, as it would have too much energy for him to cope with.
However, whatever the reason for this, it is important that he does see a vet as only they will be able to carry out the appropriate tests to find out what the problem is.
I wish you the best of luck.

You really need to take your cat to the vets just to make sure he is okay. It is quite normal for a kitten to playfully attack an older cat because that is how they learn. The only way to prevent this is to keep them apart. Good luck.

I suggest taking your cat to the doctor to see if anything is wrong;;My cats puke sometimes either because the food don`t agree wit them or they just ate too much..Also if you recently changed their food like maybe cuz you got a kitten then that wasn`t a good idea..You shouldn`t just change a cats food..

Also the kitten attacting your cat is Very normal;;Kittens are real playful && him tryin to play with the cat is most likely going to happen no matter what..
