Nallie answered Tuesday June 13 2006, 10:50 pm: A tip that may help is don't over turn or over steer..a lot of new drivers do this. Once the car is in the direction that you need to be in you need to lighten your grip on the wheel and allow it to go back into a straight position--sometimes the steering wheel will even slide through your fingers. My teacher told her that when her shoulder lined up with the curb is about when she should start turning. Also, make sure to slow down as you approach the turn, but give it a little gas as you are actually turning to pull the car through the turn.
xxsima answered Monday June 12 2006, 9:55 pm: When you are turning, don't turn all of a sudden and go into a sudden state of panic and such. Take it easy and slow, start out with one hand, and turn the wheel slightly, and then grip over with your other hand, let go, and let it slide a little under your hands. That's how I was taught. I can't really show you, but thats the best that I could explain it.
sbloemeke answered Monday June 12 2006, 9:26 pm: In drivers training, everyone stumbles in turning. I would advise you to not worry about it yet. Always make sure you have your blinkers on, and turn the weel enough such that you can make it around the corner. You also need to check every way known to man. but, you'll do fine. The 2nd day is where you start to get the hand of it. [ sbloemeke's advice column | Ask sbloemeke A Question ]
tasuki answered Monday June 12 2006, 9:14 pm: Well...it would help if I knew the exact problem you had. But I will tell you this! Driver's ed sucks. It's stressful and you'll make a LOT of mistakes. BUT you'll get better. I was HORRIBLE my first time, and many times after that. But I have my license now! So just calm down and have confidence in yourself. It may also help to ask your teacher how to improve, or your parents. [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]
