LoveToLaugh37 answered Wednesday June 14 2006, 2:57 pm: Well there are two types of voices
Head voice and Chest voice
Head voice is kind of when you sing through your head (I know it sounds weird. Maybe ask the vhorus teacher at your school, she probably has a better answer.)
Chest voice is when you like belt songs and when you sing really loud. That's what a lot of black girl singers do (Like Gloria Gaynor. Not Alicia Keys.) because they can pull it off.
Nasal breathing is just when you breath and sing through your nose. It's unhealthy for your chords though. So I would try not doing.
People alwauys sound different to themselves then to other people. I suggest singing into a recorded tape (Do you have a keroke machine?) and then playing it over to see what you sound
nEwYoRkLaDii answered Friday June 9 2006, 4:39 pm: Good question. You don't want to feel a tingle in your cheeks or head when singing: you need to pull from the stomach.
Krupple answered Friday June 9 2006, 12:18 pm: I know nothing about singing, but I'd assume head voice is a phrase used to describe the way you hear your voice, vs how it actually sounds to other people.
Nasal breathing would probably be breathing through your nose.
You can always record yourself, listen to it, and make corrections. Your voice will sound different (only to you) when you hear it on recording. [ Krupple's advice column | Ask Krupple A Question ]
Advicelady6798 answered Friday June 9 2006, 11:59 am: Nasal breathing is where you are breathing through your nose while singing. When people sing thorugh their nose you can tell because they have an airy sound. You should try and breath from your chest and go from there out to the mouth. If you breath through your mouth you have a clear sound when you sing. Using your nose doesnt make you sound bad but it makes your voice a little airy. LoveNJstyle answered Friday June 9 2006, 11:04 am: head voice is what you sing in in your upper range. usually you want your head and your chest voice to be "hooked" together throughout your range. nasal breathing... i'm thinking that breathing through your nose...usually you breathe through your mouth to get more air faster. singing like what? nasal-y? you pinch your nose and if its hard to sing or if it sounds terrible, you're singing wrong.
these aren't really tips... i do recommend a voice teacher. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
