clearlypink428 answered Monday May 29 2006, 2:22 pm: they say to squeeze a lemon straight on your hair, and sit in the sun- but this technique can give you real bad results. the best way to do it is to take a lemon or two and squeeze as much juice out of them as possible into a spray bottle. add about a 5th of that amount with water. make sure your hair is clean, so the spray can penetrate the folicles.(if its greasy, it wont absorb into the hair). after spraying the desired amount of the spray onto your hair- you sit out in the sun(might as well work on your tan AND your hair at the same time!) or you can spray it on if youre going to be out allday. it even works if your hair's in a ponytail. another option is peroxide. you can spray it on your hair before you go out for the day. every day for a week will give you a beachy look. thats what i used to use once a month in the summer. the only down side to it is that you have to have somewhat light brown hair to use peroxide. if you have dark hair- it will more than likely turn out orange. another option is to buy "sun-in". i bought some at walgreens. you dont even have to sit out in the sun for that. you spray it on, and use the blowdryer to activate it. really hope i helped. let me know which one you picked! spitfire9631@yahoo.com [ clearlypink428's advice column | Ask clearlypink428 A Question ]
itsz_JESS answered Monday May 29 2006, 2:18 pm: yah lemons do make your hair lighter. what you do is squeeze the juice out of the lemon and put them in your hair. like if you want hilites then put it on some strands and if you want your whole head lighter, then youll have to have a lot of lemons. and then you sit out in the sun for a long time [ itsz_JESS's advice column | Ask itsz_JESS A Question ]
tasuki answered Monday May 29 2006, 1:38 pm: Well, you don't need a lemon. A simple bottle of lemon juice will do the trick. Go out in the sunlight and pour it in your hair, but make sure you're wearing a shirt that you don't care about because it will lighten the fabric, too. Just stay in the sun for a little while and there you go! [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]
xoxDaneCookRox answered Monday May 29 2006, 1:25 pm: yup! you just put the lemon juice in your hair and sit in the sun. Im not sure how long maybe an hour and you could do more if you want it lighter.
MFS answered Monday May 29 2006, 1:20 pm: Quite simply - you apply lemon juice to your hair then go out in the sunlight. It acts as a mild bleaching agent when exposed to sunlight - not so well if you don't go in the sun. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
