bound_heart answered Thursday May 25 2006, 7:54 am: With the way that conception works, she couldn't tell yet. It takes 6-10 days for implantation to occur (that's when the fertilized egg implants itself into the wall of the uterus). If she only had unprotected sex two days ago, there hasn't been time for the embryo to implant and there wouldn't be any pregnancy hormones for the test to detect.
In short, if she is pregnant, she wouldn't be able to tell yet.
Tell your friend that a condom would go a long way towards easing her worries in the future.
powertrash answered Wednesday May 24 2006, 11:36 pm: Very, very unlikely. Most pregnancy tests are only valid AFTER your 1st missed period...and there's STILL some ambiguity even then.
If your friend doesn't want to be pregnant, she can *still* take the Morning After Pill...some work up to 72 hours after intercourse. Your friend should also pay attention to what time of the month it was when she was having sex...at certain stages of your period, you have more of a chance of becoming pregnant than others.
I *doubt* knows if she's pregnant yet. She MIGHT have gotten a false alarm, but if you'll pardon my rudeness, I know a lot of girls that have claimed to be pregnant for attention. I'd take it with a grain of salt. If she really did engage in unprotected sex, she COULD be pregnant. But she a) isn't going to be displaying signs yet and b) shouldn't know yet anyway.
Razhie answered Wednesday May 24 2006, 9:49 pm: It is ridiculously unlikely that she would receive a positive on a pregnancy test only two days after having sex. It is possible she received a false positive…
Home pregnancy tests test for a hormone that is produced only once the fertilized egg has implanted in the uterine wall. In most cases, this happens about 6 days after conception. Sometimes is can happen much later. Home pregnancy tests are accurate if you wait at least three days after a missed period, even more likely to be accurate if you wait a whole week.
Bella'sAdvice answered Wednesday May 24 2006, 9:37 pm: no you cant tell the most you should best wait till take a pregnancy test is 2 weeks after your missed period I know I was pregnant before trust me tell her to try it 2 weeks after her period is missed or even if she dont miss her period still tell her to take one 2 weeks later and tell her to use first response trust me she'll be able to tell still

KELLY_ELIZABETH answered Wednesday May 24 2006, 9:34 pm: no, you cant. theres always symptoms you can look for but i doubt they would show up after only two days..
devilspawn_666 answered Wednesday May 24 2006, 9:34 pm: You can't tell two days after the unprotected sex is had. In order for an at-home pregnancy test to be effective, you need to wait about a week after your missed period. Follow the directions that come with the box, and it should give you an accurate result. [ devilspawn_666's advice column | Ask devilspawn_666 A Question ]
