the difference in female & male writing

Question Posted Sunday May 14 2006, 9:54 am

totally random question, I know..but howcome you can always tell when a note is written by a girl/boy, I mean it's pretty obvious when it's a girl, cause we write more..bubbly? I dont know, but you get it right..? Like howcome all girls write pretty similar, bubbly and compact, and..well..girly. Like us girls, we write in more "round" forms, and guys write more squared, straight..you know what I'm saying?

WHY is that??

Is it something in the brain we're born with?
Cause it obviously has something to do with gender..

it's beacuase along with looks that women want to attract, they also want to show how much they can show off themselfs by the writing they can make. Like in the inaimal kindom, peacoks show their colors to flont their stuff and to attract their mate. Like woemn, they flont their colors and abilitys to find their "well suited" mate. Works for everything. Did you know that if you really put your mmind into it, we're all animals? the adittues, the clothes, they way we act, walk, talk? that special thing that, that one guy/girl can do that makes her apealing? well it also count in letters too. Well i hope this opens up a lil bit in your mind as well as helping you out. Take care now

It really has nothing to do with gender. Girls just usually spend more time trying to make their handwriting "pretty" and like the other girls in school.

Personally, I am female and when I write a note, most people think it was written by a guy.

hey, thats not true. i know girls who have horrible writting and guys with gorgeous writting. i guess it depends on the person and if they care how they write or not. with some people its a competition for who writes teh neatest so people try more. ya know? cait♥

I think that it has nothing to do with gender. It has to do with how we were tought to write. I'm a guy, and people always tell me how I write like a girl. It's because my teacher told me that my handwriting was preposterous. My sister's handwriting isn't nearly as good as mine now.

Of course, girls generally have better handwriting than guys. Why? No clue.

I'm an 18 year old guy and people tell me I write like a first grader. I guess its because I don't care if my hand writing is neat or not. The way I see it is if its legible then its okay. But I know some girls who write sloppy also so that theoery isn't always true.

Nallie answered Sunday May 14 2006, 12:11 pm:
In my jobs, and the tons of paperwork I have always had to contend with, I have seen lots of handwriting styles over the years. Sometimes what you are saying doesn't hold true as I have seen females that write pretty sloppy, and males that write nicely and form letters in a rounded shape. One thing I have noticed though is that handwriting changes, my friends and I once wrote in that bubbly style..and as we got older and perhaps more in a hurry we don't do that anymore.
I believe in the teen years it's more about the desire to express yourself. Girls communicate differently--and are more expressive. Boys really don't pay much attention to that aspect. In the adult years handwriting matches personality.

The study of handwriting is called graphology.

boys dont really care about their writing, haha you kno whwa i mean?

smcheerleadingx answered Sunday May 14 2006, 11:04 am:
haha i dont think you're born with a certain handwriting. most girls write in a rounder form because it is very feminine. also, girls usually develope that type of handwriting over a while because its prettier. guys will not try to write in pretty cursive of bubbly letters because they dont try to change their style of writing. once they know how to write a letter they could care less about writing at all. and when they do, they dont want to write it out all nice like us ladies =)

haha you sound like a curious person. my mom always said that people who ask the simplest questions will be attending harvard one day.
