no it's not bad, as a matter of fact water is the key element to the human life force. it's a good way to clense the body, what's really goodfor your skin is the sea water when you go to the beach. It's good for your complection, so this summer go to the beach. Hope this helps

No. However, lake water isn't the cleanest. If you don't rinse it off for awhile chances are, the dirt and grime will cause you to break out. Being dirty is a cause of acne. I guess you could say then, that the lake water is indirectly bad for acne. As long as you rinse off, you will be fine. Most people do rinse off, which would make them cleaner and thus acually be good for their acne. See how that works? The lake has nothing to do with it. It's all about being clean.

Swimming in a pool is different. There are chemicals in the pool that can help acne go away quicker along with the fact that you'll be cleaner.

I hope I helped and have a great time wherever you swim! :)

PinkLady4863 answered Wednesday May 3 2006, 9:44 pm:
There is absolutely no reason for lake water to be bad for your skin. It will not dry your skin out because lake water does not have salt in it like ocean water does. Lake water is merely water mixed with sand, plants, and algae (sounds gross, but it's true) and none of the above are known to cause acne. In fact, lake water may be good for your skin because it refreshes the pores as the water flows into, and lifts the dirt out of your pores.

so no worries =]

orphans answered Wednesday May 3 2006, 8:13 pm:
I don't think so from my experiences. In the summer I'm in the lake 24/7 and I have never gotten acne from it. I've never heard of that little myth before. Well, back to your question. It may be different for other people, but I swim in lakes alot and it hasn't caused me any acne problems. You should be fine.

it depends on your skin.
when i went swimming in a lake (for about 3 days straight,2-3 hours)i didnt get acne at all.In fact, that was the time that i had no acne. Its not too much to worry about, water is water :).
still if you think you'll get acne from lake water, wash your face befor and after you go in the lake :)
