so my prom is in 9 days, saturday april 22nd. i just got a cold sore today, i've been putting carmex on it and its not getting bigger but does anyone know any quick fixes?
fish34 answered Friday April 14 2006, 2:50 pm: I would DEFINITELY recommend Abreva. It's like the best cold sore medication out there, and it works beautifully! Also, as well as putting on medication I recommend taking Lysine tablets (ask a pharmacist or someone for the proper dosage needed). Lysine "tricks" the cold sore virus into thinking that it's already spread, so then it stops. [ fish34's advice column | Ask fish34 A Question ]

Sherry answered Thursday April 13 2006, 10:46 pm: Cold sores go away in 9 days for sure, but get this stuff called Abreva..it's expensive but it works miracles. It's the only non-prescription FDA approved cold sore treatment that is proven to shorten healing time. You have to get it! I get cold sores all the time and I hate my life, but Abreva rocks.
