I am a very self concious person and I was wondering if Anyone has tips on how to make a plan outfit look cuter, or more "gangsta lol" Or just better put together and not so plain..?
you can find a lot of great and possibly cheap clothes at the mall. whatever you do, don't bounce from prep to skater to who knows what. some people in my school do that and most look at them as posers. try not to make such a drastic difference in your style until you're comfortable with it.
a personal fashion tip of mine that MANY have followed is wearing cami's. once or twice a week i get 2 diff. colored cami's and put them over-top each other (make sure the bottom color is not RIGHT beneath the first one so people can see it). i like them because they wrap about your bod nicely, without making you look like a slut. then if you want, you can throw on a belt to make it look expensive =]. i hope that advice helps because it has helped a handful of my plain days. if you want to buy a whole new outfit, try fun, cheap stores that sell nice stuff, such as forever 21, macy's, or any other store near you.
if you are feeling crafty, you could sew some things on it yourself! you could decorate it with ribbon or patches, things like that.
you could also:
wear fun long necklaces
shiny earrings
toerings
skirts, long and short
even a ribbon around your neck looks pretty

Choose what you like. If you enjoy dressing preppy, a polo or two are a must. Enjoy what you wear, clothing should be fun.
Keep up with the latest trends, only to know what's in style.
Add a couple of accessories - for example, a watch, ribbon or belt.
Know that shoes are a must. Wear something that matches your personal style as well as the outfit you are wearing.
Don't go over the top (ex. Don't wear all leopard print...well, dont wear leopard print at all!)- unless you know what you are doing
Try not to look fake...don't wear something if it's not you.
Tips
Try to go shopping at least once a month, it will be easier to keep up with the latest trends. Do whatever your budget will allow.

Sherry answered Wednesday April 12 2006, 3:24 pm: Make sure you have neckalaces, bracelets, earings, and cute belts. Buy a bunch from Target, WalMart, Forever 21, etc. Their usally $1-$5. Cheap but cute. Mix and match the neckalaces && bracelets with your outfit for that day. Accessories always make plain outfits look great.
Here's a link to get you started.
They have the cutest stuff, for really cheap.
