What is anemia? My friend said that when you get it you have it for the rest of your life or something? Is that true? What happens when you get it? Ill rate 5s.
Your blood has iron stores in it and when these iron stores run low, that is anaemia.
It can cause a number of symptoms, including fatigue, lack of ability to concentrate, feeling very cold and - if you're anything like me - you will fall over a lot because you feel like your legs go numb when you stand up and you black out!!!
Anaemia can be treated with iron tablets but in very severe cases, it may require a drip to ensure the iron goes back into your bloody quickly. It's very rare for this to be necessary, however. [ Vikki27's advice column | Ask Vikki27 A Question ]
Nallie answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 10:42 pm: It depends on the type of anemia and what is causing it. Before I can give you correct information I need to know what the entire diagnosis is. I think others answered as if the diagnosis is Iron Deficiency Anemia, but we don't know that yet.... [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]
XoNeLLiE143oX answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 9:17 pm: my moms enimic(sp?) it has something to do with the blood not having enough iron in it. Usually you are born with it, like my mom was. It can be passed down from generation to generation, becuase my mom was sick while giving birth to my baby brother and now he has a blood disorder. You do have it for the rest of oyur life. Its not extremly life-threatening though. You can feel weak a lot and often need a bit of sugar to help boost your energy. Thats what happens to my mom. You just have to take iron supplements and you wont even realize you have it. hope i helped! ♥dAnieLLe

Anaemia is wen the body didn't have enough iron. Yeah you can have it for the rest of your life if you don't eat iron rich foods when you now get it.
Sickle cell anaemia however is when a bloodcell gets out of shape..and that one is more inherited and of course it's a lifetime disease.
Hope I helped n if u need more info contact me on my column
