I need some ideas on how to save my money! everytime i get money i spend it right away and cant save anything for my life (like today i wasted $80 on a bathing suit and spent $175 total) ive tried locking up my money but i always find excuses on why i need to get it out. like ill borow money from my sister and then ill have to go and get her mine or ill get grounded. also i cant get a bank account yet (its just not worth it when i dont have an income) and i cant give it to my parents because they have been known to steal money off of me. Any ideas? im desperate! or tips are good too!

Get a friend to be accountable for you, explain the problem to someone you really trust who you see often, and ask them to look after your money for you. That way, it will require more time and effort to access your money so you will be less likely to spend for the sake of it. And your friend can judge when you need money, and when you're just going to regret spending it later.

You just need to trust yourself. Everytime you go into the mall and don't buy anything, go to Dairy Queen and buy yourself some ice cream. When you keep your money locked up and don't take it out for a month, go to the movies with your friends. You have to reward yourself.

Set a goal for yourself with a reward. Tell yourself when I have x amount saved up, I'll buy (fill in something you really want here). Whenever you're tempted to raid your savings, think of your reward and how much longer it will take to get it if you take money out.
You can also set aside a certain amount of your money for spending and only take that amount when you go shopping. When I was in my teens, I was bad to spend any money I had with me. I finally started taking only the amount I allowed myself when I would go shopping; the rest I left at home. It worked because I couldn't spend money I didn't have with me. To this day, whenever I go somewhere I might be tempted to overspend (such as the mall), I take only a certain amount of money. I leave my checkbook and credit cards at home. ]
A bank account is the solution here! Whether you have income or not, it's a great idea... I've had one since I was 6 years old!
If you get a youth account, the bank will generally not charge interest, so that's a definite plus :) ]
try putting aside like 20 dollars in an envalope every week and dont take it out until you really want to buy something ]
its just a matter of having self control. ways to not spend money are: don't go shopping of anywhere you can buy things, only go somehwere when you NEED something and plan how much you want to spend on that, only keep a certain amount with you/in your wallet...keep the rest in a drawer and dont take any out unless you need it. i used to have this problem and those things worked for me so try it and i think they will work for you! <3 ]
