When I shave my underarm I somtimes get these bumps and they hurt pretty bad! What are they? Use Venus for my razor and soap. Am I doing something wrong? Should I be doing something else?
It might also be that you're not exfoliating. Don't shave for a few days. Then carefully rub a washcloth under your armpits while you're in the shower. Don't be too harsh, it'll hurt like a mofo. Next up, wait one more day, and then try shaving. [ ForfeitYourDream's advice column | Ask ForfeitYourDream A Question ]

summerGIRL_xo answered Friday March 31 2006, 6:17 pm: this happens to a lot of people including me! try using shaving cream (venus has good shaving cream) instead of soap because it's more moisturizing (hahah is that a word?) on your skin. xoxDaneCookRox answered Friday March 31 2006, 6:14 pm: It might be because your using soap. Use shaving cream.
xo_tragicglamour answered Friday March 31 2006, 5:54 pm: You're not doing anything wrong becaus those bumps show up on everyone. You shouldn't be using soap though. Armpit skin is really delicate and you should use shaving creame. That will probably help less bumps (or none) appear. [ xo_tragicglamour's advice column | Ask xo_tragicglamour A Question ]
TheTeenGirl answered Friday March 31 2006, 5:20 pm: I think your problem is the soap. It's not really ment for shaving.
Shaving cream will probably protect your sensative skin under your arms when you shave. I'm not saying that you can't use soap, but soap is slippery when on skin, and its just better to use shaving cream because it's thick and it won't slide off.
Also after shaving, try applying lotion to the areas to help even better.
ROXiEMARiEX3 answered Friday March 31 2006, 5:12 pm: This could just mean you have sensitive skin. I have the same problem. If that is the case, make sure you're not pressing down too hard and you might want to try using a real shaving cream or gel. They help moisturize your skin while shaving and prevent cuts and do help with bumps :) [ ROXiEMARiEX3's advice column | Ask ROXiEMARiEX3 A Question ]
