GED? I'm in high school. I heard something about a GED that gets you out sooner..what is that? How does it work, does it look good or bad for colleges, is it free, everything. :)
I'm feeling generous with ratings btw.

A GED is somewhat like a high school diploma, but not the same. GED's are for people who decide to drop out of high school. More than likely, a person probably won't even get into college with a GED. Hope I heled!

GED stands for Good Enough Diploma (not really, but Chris Rock has a nice segment on it.) It is normally considered inferior to a normal diploma, as it is usually received by dropouts who couldn't handle high school the first time, or had to leave for other reasons (pregnancy, cannibalism, death, chronic masturbation, these are not real reasons). Although most HR departments in a business are required to say that a GED is an acceptable equivalent for a diploma, it usually is not. Don't get one with the hopes that it will get you out of school faster; it takes the same amount of work anyhow. It may come back to haunt you when you try to get a decent job, or apply to anything other than a community college. In short=
GED = Dumb
High School Diploma = Less dumb, but probably still dumb ]
well its basically ment for people who drop out of school athough i guess you could get it while your in hs and its basically a hs diploma and its prob not free but im not sure.
and i would say it looks really bad for colleges because its kinda or people who are just desperate to get a hs diploma.. like alot of teen moms get it and stuff
now you would have to look more into a specific college and ask people who would know more about the GED and college thing. i only know who mainly gets it and what it is so i think that mainly explains how it looks but you never know ]
