Just a tip: Rabbits do learn by association. Do not feed the rabbit treats from your hand. He/she will learn to associate your hand with food and can possibly bite you.

Well here are some pointers

-clean the cage every week (they poo alot)
-give him or her a bath every 3 months
-clean water out daily
-hay is a daily diet, so offer hay daily
-day food should be present
-take to the vet for check ups
-handle alot within the first few months
-get a turn out pen and keep in there for about 10-20 minutes for bonding (must be suprivised)

and thats about it :)

Lie the rabbit on it's back on your lap, (they will stay still in this position), if it has something like a semi colon (;)between it's legs it's a girl, if it looks like a colon (:) it's a boy. Rabbits don't usually respond to being called. You can get books on rabbit care, but don't give it too much lettuce it's not good for their digestion. Change their bedding every few days but not every day as they are coprofagious, that is, they need to eat some of their own faeces to absorb all the nutrients they need. Pick the rabbit up regularly as the more contact it has the friendlier it is likely to be. Give it a good rabbit food and supplement with treats like carrot. If it is boy, it may need to be neutered if it gets aggressive, but this should be a last resort as rabbits do not always respond well to anaesthesia. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I foget to add that you should keep a fresh supply of hay as this aids digestion, a salt lick and something to gnaw on as rabbits teeth do not stop growing. You can get all this from a pet shop. One other thing, rabbits are prone to overgrown back teeth so keep an eye on them, they need to be seen by a vet if they start causing problems, rabbits are also prone to abscesses, so if you find one or the rabbit feels overhot or goes off it's food, again to the vet.

This is in response to the question "How to get him to like us?". You can give them treats and stuff but there really is no guarantee. My family's had a rabbit for 8 years and she still cringes when you try to pet her or pick her up. But at the same time I've heard of very tame rabbits that are actually affectionate. So you can only do so much to get your rabbit to like you, the rest is the rabbit's own personality. Good luck.

OK, so take your pretty bunny and stick it between your legs... his belly should be facing up towards you, and his hind legs spread wide open.

Gently push apart the flaps of skin, and you'll find out exactly how you should nurture your new pet. A slit means a girl... nurture her with Barbie dolls and reassurances that she's pretty and your boyfriend won't touch her there again. If you see a tubular structure, or even better, a couple of beans to go with the frank, you've got a boy. Keep him happy with GI Joe's and privacy when he's in the shower 'a little too long.'

How to call a rabbit? Who cares?!? No matter what you call it, all it's going to do is stare at you blankly and nibble your bum. Which brings up the question you should have asked a couple weeks ago... "Is there any point to having a pet rabbit?"

There's only one thing I can think of that would truly make a pet rabbit happy... FREEDOM.

Anyway... if you decide to keep this thought-provoking (for the minute anyway) pet of yours, be sure to have it spayed or neutered. Otherwise you run the risk of it multiplying like... well, you know.

Rabbits like carrots and lettuce so... if you give him/her a treat everytime it does something you like then it will come to like you. FOr instance, get it used to tis name then when it comes to you after calling it give it a carrot. Rabbits are very docile creatures no need to worry about it liking you, it just naturally will. There are websites on the internet about what to feed them things they especially like and things like that, so maybe just go to google and search for Rabbit Information. Hope I helped, and good luck.
