Fake Why is it that when your emo/rock/punk/gothic or whatever that people call you fake when you wear something that's like pink or from the mall? Isn't the whole point of being emo and stuff to be original?

hmmm...well,to tell you thte truth, labels shouldn't exsist.people call others fake--because they dont know them.the only way you would be fake is if you lie to yourself about who you really are.hmmm im not sure what the point of an emo trend is...only because emo is a type of music..bleh,no idea.i think the colors for punk are black and pink right? they cant judge people like that, but my suggestion is to learn how to make you own clothes--thats what im going to start doing :) and be creative!! ]
If you ask me, THEYRE the ones being fake. They are trying to be someone theyre not. But thats just my opinion. So dont listen to them. Be who you wanna be. ]
No being emo means being "emo"tional, listening to emo just means u like the emotional music, what you wear has nothing to do with it, it just kind of hard for people to imagine a kid who listens to that to be wearing pink so they call them fake, If you are truley original you wouldnt care what those retards think. And ironically once you dont care they think your cool and thats when they all start acting like you. Lifes weird like that. ]
Have you heard the emo song? "You could be nonconformist too if you looked just like me" LOL A lot of emo kids are just silly clones. If you're not afraid to be a little different, then props to you! You're the true individual, and you can make fun of them! ]
Most people just see the image of emo or goth as wearing black and being kind of creepy lol and are too nieve to see its being an original and expressing yourself. ]
It's pretty hypocritical, really. Those stereotypes say that you should be original, when they really aren't because people who say that they're punk/emo/whatever are just like other people who say they're punk/emo/whatever. You're right.
It's just part of the stereotype. It's like saying you can't be "punk" if you have something that isn't from a thrift store or Hot Topic.
It's kind of like the saying, "You're unique, just like everybody else." See what I mean?
Labels are stupid, they really are.
I hope I helped, and if you have any more questions, feel free to leave one in my inbox!

Its all because of stereo types.
As long as you are being yourself then you shouldn't worry about that. ]
