Free Song Downloads...

Question Posted Wednesday March 1 2006, 8:08 pm

Where's a good place to find free (and legal) song downloads? I've tried Limewire but it really slowed down my computer and kept coming up as a virus/spywear thing. Thanks alot! :^)

Here is the greatest legal music site of all time

the big downfall is that you can't actually download the music.
However you can take a ton of music and put it into a playlist then export the playlist into one of their widgets and then copy the code for it and put it into a notepad as an html document. I have 35 full albums on on list and it's like 350Kb I put it on my ipod and an then whenever I have wifi I open it and I can stream the playlist.

Guess what.

1) Downloading music off of Limewire is illegal.

2) There is really no legal place for free music. Think about it. If you worked your ass off over a song, would you REALLY want people to have it for free? Sometimes, one song is released for free download, but this is usually to promote the artist / new album (like iTunes's free Single of the Week).

theres really nowhere thats legal, free and virus free.

Legal and virus free= itunes
Illegal and free, but some viruses = Vuze, Other torrent software, Limewire etc.
Legal, and free= nowhere. Why would people give away their work for free? they wouldnt, hence iTunes.

There are some websites that claim to be legal, and free, but they are LOADED with viruses, spyware etc! Hope i helped :)

Heyy. =]

Umm, I would've said Limewire's the best. I saw something on the tv yesterday for Rhapsody which is legal, but I don't think it's free, but you can get a 14-day trial type thing.

I don't know any legal free music downloaders. Other one's I suggest are; WinMX & Kazaa.
