love handles...i hate them!

Question Posted Monday February 13 2006, 8:05 pm

i have love handles. first, i am 14/f. second, they are noticable when i wear camisoles (just in front of my girl-friends) and tighter shirts and things like that. i am not upset about the way they look or anything because God made me the way He wanted me to be. i am not overweight at all. my body mass index says that i am at a normal weight. i was just wondering if there are any exercises that i can do to get rid of them. i'll rate! thanks!

I shouldn't worry about it too much, if you're only 14 years old it's probably still puppy fat and as you'll still be going through puberty then you're likely to lose them as you get a bit older anyway. However for a short-term fix any cardiovascular exercise, such as running or cross-trainer will slim you down all over.

Try those crunches where you bring one elbow up to the opposite knee. Those worked for my love handles. Try doing about 30 a day (15 on each side) for a few weeks and it should improve. Hope I helped!

i would suggest crunches or the superman(if u dont kno wut that is it is were you lay on your stomach and have your knees perfectly straight and life them up using your lower back but you have to keep your knees straigt. then you life your arms up in front of you and u point your toes downwards.KEEP YOUR KNEES STRAIGHT OR IT DOESNT WORK AT ALL.hope it helped

First, you should do 30-60 minutes of cardio at least 3 times a week. Doing cardiovasular activites is the most effective way to burn calories and fat. There are different kinds of cardiovascular activities that you can do such as jogging, riding a stationary bicycle, swimming, Tae Bo, step aerobics, dancing, jump roping etc. But, don't stick to one cardio acitvity all the time cause eventually it will get boring. MOST IMPORTANTLY you should do a ton of crunches after your cardio workout. Since, you're mostly trying to get rid of your love handle you should mostly do side crunches.

Here is a site for different kinds of crunches:

If you stick to your exercise routine then you will eventually notice the results. Also, remember to watch out on what you eat. Don't eat junk food and try eating healthier food. Hope that I helped!
