Just explain to him that he's a really great guy, it's just you don't want a relationship right now and you much rather be friends. That should let him down nice-a-easy and he won't be heartbroken too much about it. ♥

Just tell him - "Honestly, I think I`d rather just be really good friends....I`m sorry." It`ll let him know that you still want to be his friend, and that you`re sorry for turning him down.

Tell him thanks for his interest but he isnt someone you would be interested in going out with, sorry. and if he asks why tell him your just not interested. try that save him some dignity and you will be doing a positive thing by not telling him that his dogface is not good enough for you :-D j/k

Say you're too busy right now, and not interested/available to date (like you need to focus on school). Or maybe you can say you're grounded for a while or still getting over someone else.
