I'm 5"4' and 160 lbs. That doesn't sound that 'fat' but I'm also 13 years and my doctor thinks it's too fat and that was the cause of my 'monthly's' stopping for 4 months early last year! I really need an appropriate diet to lose some pounds because I feel fat and since I have to maintain school and homework, chores, etc. it's tough to not eat.
Recently I've been on a diet with food and water and no snacks but I did eat a few snacks and after 4 bottles of water...I felt reallly bloated! So How Do I use my water and food (lunch) diet without the snacks...the temptation of the snacks? Does anny one know how to avoid buyin em?
xxoBriannax answered Friday February 3 2006, 9:01 pm: You need will power. Obviously, you don't have alot of that since you gave into temptation. I know it's hard. Try starting a food journal and write down everything you eat. When you think about eating a snack, think about the 3 minutes of pleasure and then the 3 pounds it puts on that is harder to work off. Talk to your doctor about going to a nutritionist who can put you on a healthy and balanced diet. [ xxoBriannax's advice column | Ask xxoBriannax A Question ]

What you CAN do is to not take money to school or wherever it is you purchase the snacks. If you don't have the money to buy snacks you can't eat them! Instead take healthy snacks such as fruit to school. And make sure you eat 3 balanced meals a day. I know weight loss is hard, I'm facing the same problem right now. But be strong-willed and you CAN do it! :) [ ellamouse9's advice column | Ask ellamouse9 A Question ]
bittersweet12 answered Friday February 3 2006, 6:54 pm: ok i am exactly the same like height/weight(no really) what you need to do is first start deiting in a better way, try the following:
1. eat 6 SMALL meals a day and make the biggest one breakfast not dinner. these meals HAVE to consist of a protein such as chicken and a fruit/vegetable. try to only eat carbs in 3-4 out of the 6 meals.
2. replace "fat" with muscle(it weighs more but also better for your body and metabolism)try to WALK not run a few times around your block or neighborhood. walkin is the easiest/quickest way to lose weight and it is also is not a high impact(hurts your knees/bones) workout.
3. drink more than 8 cups of water each day and do not drink soda!
4. lastly do like Oprah does dont eat after 7:00 at night this way you arent eating before your body slows down completely
i hope my advice helped and good luck but remember that being heathly is the most important not weighin the amt your docter wants. [ bittersweet12's advice column | Ask bittersweet12 A Question ]
sammysamtoohott answered Friday February 3 2006, 5:49 pm: ok well first if you want an appropriate diet your not doing it right now. you should have some snacks because you need to have a balanced diet and be healthy. instead of cutting out snacks completely have healthy ones like fruits and vegetables. there very good for you and not fattening at all. if you wanna lose some weight you should stay away from salty, sugary, and especially fried foods. you can also eat smaller portions. have one cookie instead of two you know? i know your probably going through a stressful time right now but eating isnt going to solve your problems. you just have to take a deep breath and relax. if you eat healthy snacks and maybe do some excersize you should lose some weight in no time!
Docholliday answered Friday February 3 2006, 5:44 pm: Ok, I know everyone is porbably gonna get on my case for this but... there is a pill called Calotren, it's kinda expensive but it works, and it also helps with periods, aches, acne, all kinds of stuff, and it is TOTALLY safe. And just excercising in general is really good, walking a mile or two a day, eat about 7 small meals a day, or at least try, it keep your metabolism going all day, and that helps when losing weight. hope i helped, i am liitle rushed right now, best of luck. fish34 answered Friday February 3 2006, 5:27 pm: I would suggest that instead of completely cutting out snacks, try and get healthy snacks. Some good foods that you can snack on are celery (excellent source of fibers) blueberries (great antioxidants) carrots (good for your eyes) and bananas (lots of potassium). Celery is really good because it's nice and crunchy and you actually burn more calories eating/digesting it than the amount of calories you actually gain by consuming it. ^^ [ fish34's advice column | Ask fish34 A Question ]
Vanity answered Friday February 3 2006, 4:55 pm: Honey you are never going to lose weight if you deny yourself of every pleasure. You know by example that you eventually give in and mess up.
You will lose weight if you make a change that you can live with. When it comes to snacks, you need them. We all do. Just be smarter about what you choose to snack on. Instead of eating candy or chips or cupcakes, try snacking on fruit, yogurt, string cheese, or veggies.
It's all about the choices you make. Don't try eating 1 meal a day or cutting everything you love from your diet. A cupcake is perfectly fine every once in awhile.
Just stick to eating healthier and in moderation (smaller portions).
You also need to work out. I'm sure, if you can't afford it, your parents would be willing to buy you some kind of cardio dvd to help. [ Vanity's advice column | Ask Vanity A Question ]
