storing make up and belts etc

Question Posted Friday February 3 2006, 9:19 am

im trying to find a new way of funking up my room. ive got loads of products like make up and hair stuff that i need to find storage for. i want somewhere i can display them but im bored of the original things like shelves which i already have 3 of full of stuff.

Also i have loads of belts that are draping over my wardrobe stick leaving little room for my clothes

so can any one give me any ideas of how to make unusual storage for my make up products? but some where they can be seen.

and also some ideas for my belts.

i store my makeup in small boxes with drawers in them. each box is about 7 inches tall, and 5 inches wide. they sell them in several different colors, and there are many different brands, also. for my belts, i have a large metal ring *about 4 inches across) that i hang on the bars in my closet (where i put hangers on.) i just take the metal part of the belt *the buckle* and hang that on the ring. hope i helped!

for make up try getting a vanity or something like that this way you can still see all your make up and you'll have a place to put it on in the morning as for your belts put them on a hanger in your closet

I go to flea markets and estate sales to look for old jewelry boxs (from the 50's & 60's) and round zippered travel cases & hat boxes. I put small items like lipsticks, liners, mascara, etc. in the jewelry boxes and larger items that can stand up in the round zippered travel cases & hat boxes. The boxes and travel cases can stack on top of each other and look cool just on the floor in a stack. For your belts, roll them up and put them in a plastic storage box for sweaters (with a lid) or an empty dresser drawer. The plastic storage box can slip under the bed.

Hi there,

You could get some see-thru pvc boxes to put your make-up in. Different sizes and then stack them on top of each other - that's what I do with mine!

With my belts I bought a load of sticky plastic t-towel hooks and stuck them all over the back of my bedroom door then hung the belts on those!
Looks really cool, it's really cheap and if you don't like it then they are easy to take off. Also when you buy more belts you just stick moe on!

Hope this helps!

Mel
