Hello!

Since your friend has told you that he loves you, it's almost definite that he's going to mention it again and you shouldn't avoid it.

The main errors that I think most people make when they're in this situation is lying and telling the person who fancies them that they like them back when they don't and starting a relationship with they do not like, or they tell their friend about their true feelings in a way that upsets their friendship.

You can't say for definite that your friend will take the bad news well as love is a very confusing thing, but you should speak to your friend very KINDLY and without putting him down.

Tell him that although you really like him, you only like him as a best friend. Be sure to tell him how much you value his friendship with you. I hope that this helps.

Things may just about go back to nearly-normal after you tell him this. But there may be some awkwardness for a while and this is something that you will have to get through. I can't see your friendship changing too much if you take extra care to be kind and tell him how much he means to you as a friend. =)

Good luck!

well if your not ready then tell him and talk to him about it and tell him to slow down and if it doesnt work then he is not a true friend because he should understand your feelings and emotions if your not ready.

Aw that's so cute!! Well I would understand because it seems like you two are so close.I think that would work out really good if you two went out.But again maybe the end would screw up your good friendship. So talk to him and tell him if you two do go out that at the end if anything bad happens you still want to stay best friends no matter what.♥

Tell him what you just told us.Tell him that he's like a brother to you and that you don't want things to change. Let him know exactly how you feel about the situation.

Just explain to him that he's more like a brother figure to you, and you don't want to further the relationship because you think of him more like a friend. =]

Tell him he's such a good friend that you're worried about ruining the friendship by dating and then breaking up.
Say something like, "Our friendship means too much to me to risk by getting into a relationship like that."
I did this with a friend of mine. It took me two times, but she finally got the idea.

Well maybe you should explain to him how you feel. This will straighten him out and he'll come to realize that he can't have you as more than a friend. If you do this though, you may not be as close but don't worry! You'll become close again after time goes by!

Hope I Helped! =)
