4evaurs_21 answered Tuesday January 24 2006, 6:02 pm: i have a fast metabolism as well, i am very active with sports and all that... at first i didnt like the fast metabolism, but i just kept up with it. just eat right and exercise regularly to keep your muscles fit. don't stop your daily activities. STAY ACTIVE!! getting older does slow down your metabolism, and yours will eventually. i never turned to the doctor to help slow it down, i just found out how to keep up with it. if you have any more questions, just let me know!

Gabriel answered Tuesday January 24 2006, 1:32 pm: You really shouldn't want to slow your metabolic rate. If you're looking to gain weight there are plenty of other options that can be found at GNC or other similar stores. Also try to put on muscle instead of fat. Not only is it healthier but muscle actually weighs more than fat does. If I have missed the point of this completely feel free to e-mail, instant message, or use my inbox and I will give an answer better suited to your needs. Raeden answered Tuesday January 24 2006, 12:42 pm: Your metabolism is determined by your age, weight, height, gender, and some other factors. All I know is that losing weight slows down your metabolism, and gaining weight speeds it up. Also aging tends to slow it down. Some drugs can slow down or speed up your metabolism for a short period.
However messing with your metabolism shouldn't be taken lightly as it is a function your body controls just fine. If you want to slow your metabolism to gain weight easier, here's a better idea: eat more, move less. [ Raeden's advice column | Ask Raeden A Question ]
