tapdiva answered Tuesday January 17 2006, 5:28 pm: Instead of old and hippey got with glamourous and elegant. not old glam but new glam, like midlength flowing skirts, heels, and fabric handbags. Simple jewelry also. [ tapdiva's advice column | Ask tapdiva A Question ]
kaylaxosays answered Tuesday January 17 2006, 4:35 pm: "hot" new trends, are what EVERYONE is wearing. If you want to lead..start your own style, be an individual! I personally wouldnt worry about whats in..just wear what you like. You'll get alot more attention that way than if your just another face in the crowd. xxoBriannax answered Tuesday January 17 2006, 11:57 am: Yea it's annoying that everyone dresses exactly the same and the girls that dress like that all act the same too. It's just a trend it will end by like May. Make your own clothes if you want to be the first with it on because as soon as someone sees something cute on someone, they go and try to buy it. There will always be trends, you can't do anything about it. [ xxoBriannax's advice column | Ask xxoBriannax A Question ]
BabbiD0LL answered Tuesday January 17 2006, 10:33 am: Well you shouldnt be asking us this if you want to be a leader. Because you need to figure it out on your own. See I love all that stuff, I have a gold sequin purse, a sparkly belt, the pink Ugg boots, ripped jeans from american eagel, big sunglasses from american eagel and the granny sweaters. But they are all things I like, you yourself cant really start a trend that takes over the nation like the sparkly purses did. So just buy things you like and if somone else likes it they will buy it and it will get peoples attention but good luck I think you will need it because its hard to make a trend.

if you want to lead think of something on your own.
think of something you think would be cute and dont be scared to wear it. dont think about what others will think!
thats not leading if you do that.
so seriously, think of something on your own and who knows maybe everyone will start wearing that!
good luck..
tasuki answered Tuesday January 17 2006, 12:51 am: Look at other cultures for inspiration! You may like Harajuku ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) or Celtic clothing or a combination of both! Try looking at thrift stores, as well. You find the most random, pretty, so-out-of-fashion-it's-cool stuff at places like Goodwill. And maybe you should take up sewing. [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]
taintedLOVEEx answered Monday January 16 2006, 11:45 pm: Try wearing your hair curly. Like every girl now straightens their hair and I think it looks so horrible sometimes but they dont even realize it. They think curly hair is ugly but actually it gives your hair bounce and makes it not flat. I cant think of anything else that I think should be back in style. Just go with whatever is different. Good luck. [ taintedLOVEEx's advice column | Ask taintedLOVEEx A Question ]
TimmyTM answered Monday January 16 2006, 11:10 pm: If you want to really be a trendsetter, ignore what other people are doing. This means simultaneously not doing what other people are doing because they're doing it, AND not being afraid to do what others are doing. Wear what YOU think looks good on you. Wear it with confidence, and others will admire your style. [ TimmyTM's advice column | Ask TimmyTM A Question ]
SqUeAkYsHoEs answered Monday January 16 2006, 11:04 pm: Try reading fashion magazines if you want to get an idea of what trends are coming up.
Vogue or TeenVogue are good.
And if you can't get a hand on the magazines- then try their websites.
hiddenmeaning answered Monday January 16 2006, 10:57 pm: the best fashion trends are what ever you come up with. I go to an art school with a lot of fashion majors and the styles range from grungy to the annoying furry jeans and such. Believe it or not the fashion "experts" look at what they see teens wearing the most and thats how the lastest trends start. [ hiddenmeaning's advice column | Ask hiddenmeaning A Question ]

Of course, if you *really* want to "lead" in this respect, I suppose you can get a bunch of friends together and have them wear what you WANT to be the "next best thing" in school. You can...oh...I don't know...start wearing ties. I have no idea.
livingLIKEloversxx answered Monday January 16 2006, 10:10 pm: uhm, try birckenstocks, idk if people already wear them wera you live, but they are ery cue. they're like sandals, only cnvered up in the front, and they're like sandish colored. really big chuncky necklaces too.
