Tears 'Till Sleep

Question Posted Wednesday January 4 2006, 4:54 pm

Well, I kinda have a probably sometimes at night. I think about death. I wonder, what will it be like when I die? What will it be like if my family dies? Why do people have to die? Can't we just live our life? When I die, I will die. I give deep thought into being gone.
Sometimes, to cheer myself up, I say to myself that there will be another life after death, another life in heaven where it's the dream I always wanted! Then, I just cry myself to sleep.
I hope you can help with my problem. Please don't tell me to go to a therapest. I really don't want to.

~Jazz~

Dont worry these are natural fears. I used to have them and now I can't waite to die. If you go to www.peterkreeft.com and go to the audio files he has a book on Everything you ever wanted to know about heaven. It is really Good StuFF!!! God bless you I will pray for you. WHen you get scared focus your attention to the center of you heart and realize that God sits at the seat of you conscience when you want to do his will and just talk to him like you do a friend who is always there for you and loves you more deeply than you could ever love in return.

i think alot about death before sleeping as well, i think its the fact theres always the possibility you wont wake up. theres so many religions to tell us what happens after death, but if your like me and you question things like that, the theroies are endless. it used to take me hours to fall asleep because it really can be a scary thought an theres no one to say this is what happens after you die. what ive taken into my mind which may seem a little harsh, but everyone has to die, even my loved ones, and i look at it this way, no one i love or care about is particularly evil, or bad, an (christian point of view) we're all pretty equal on the sin level, so i do believe wherever i wind up theyll all be there too(later, sooner) eventually. not that i want my loved ones to die, but i find it comforting that although we all cant go at once, eventually, we all will.so whether its in life or death, youll still be with people you know and love...eventually.

first i am seeing 2 things from your question. somewhere there is fear about death in your mind. so you have to console yourself by any number of thories. me too have the same experience. anyway i have to die one day. may be next moment also. it is ok. it can't be avoided. but i took today is the day that i am going to live last. let us make it useful for me and others around me. so i did everything with utmost involvement, as it is my last work inthe world. so i was very happy , to see atleast this i can offer it to somebody. second thing i underwent thro isha yoga programs conducted by sadhguru jaggi vasudev , 10 yrs ago, a living master who founded isha foundation to spread yoga in its total depth. the program made me more joyous and found myself useful to so many people . when i saw this, my joy went to manymore times and enjoyed the life , ofcourse offered to more people also. i am not suggesting this as soultion. but i am sharing my own experience. the day that i am going to die is not at all important, but the day or the moment that i am living is more important. to realize this , any number of theories cann't help you unless you transformed yourself into an experiential process.definitely isha yoga programs will be one like that for provideing what is unanswered for you. if you wish, visit the website www.ishafoundation.org to know more details. i am sugesting this solution not to promote it. it is natural , if you eat something nice, you can guide other person whom you are meeting. that's all.but once agaain i assure you, if you attempt this , may be very new dimension of life can wait for you.

i understand. i recently had 2 deaths in my family and its been really hard. death is so strange to think about and often, also think what if i dont wake up in the morning? what you can try to do is think about the moments you have now and the life ahead of you instead of thikning about death. listen to music on headphones and just get lost in that instead. i used to think myself until i thought myself to sleep and usually it was bad things. now to make my thoughts go away i let my thoughts drift away and just concentrate on the music. hope this helps!
you know you love me,

It might be a good idea to go to church or embrace a new religion which you can completely believe in. If you can't accept that there's a Heaven, then there are many other beliefs out there! Whatever happens, just know that death isn't always such a horrible thing. If no one ever died, the world would be so over populated that we'd all have to sleep standing up with 10 smelly elderly people pressed up against us.

I sometimes think about that stuff too. It used to really upset me when I was younger. I suggest keeping a journal and writing down your thoughts right before you go to bed. I know you don't want to see a therapist but talking to your councillor at school could help to figure out why you're thinking about these things all the time. I really hope I helped, and good luck. :)
