Ohkay, my winter dance is coming up soon. I've been trying to lose weight for it. Let's just say at the time of the dance, I'll be 160 pounds and 5'5. Does anyone know any dresses that would look cute on a girl that size? links to specifc sites would be apprectiated.
*THIS IS AN OPINION QUESTION. ALL ANSWERS THAT PEOPLE PUT EVEN SOME DEGREE OF THOUGHT INTO WILL GET 5'S.*

You honestly can't tell that they're two pieces, and I don't know if you're self conscious about your stomach or what not, but this really looks good on any time of girl, but specifically targeted for ones that have a little meat on their bones! That's what it looks like, but of course you might not want it THAT dressy. You can get dresses like these EVERYWHERE, seriously.
I personally wouldn't go with black, because black is such a bland color, you know what I mean? Like it just seems everyone would wear that color because it's slimming. Although, black is a pretty color & if you can get a really cute one that you like with other colors, then of course that'd be nice too.
I wouldn't wear, like a dark blue, dark green, or something along those lines, because it might like "wash you out." You know??
Plus, showing chest off can really take attention off of other parts of your body, so people will just be drawn to your neck? Maybe you could wear a strapless dress. Personally, I don't like spaghetti strap dresses, But I do like off the shoulder straps.
DancinCutie08 answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 10:04 pm: i would try something black and sparkly.. that is wat i wore to homecoming and i think dresses like that look good on everyone. the more intriget it is the better it will hide curves and stuff to try to get something maybe with like ruffles and like a halter top or something. also low cut dresses will take away from your waiste and stuff if that is what you are worried about.. the will bring the focus up [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
HelpMeHeather answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 9:43 pm: Heyy girl--
I think that you'd look better in darker colors. Try going with a blue, green, black, dark purple, or brown. Personally, the style of dress depends on what appeals to you. I don't know what your body-shape is, but if you have nice legs show them off; if you have nice shoulders show them off; etc. [ sp4rklingr4in's advice column | Ask sp4rklingr4in A Question ]
tasuki answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 9:40 pm: Okay, well I am a 'bigger' girl and when I went to the prom last year I was fortunate to have found a very lovely dress that fit well. I got it Filene's. It was a little hard to find because it was plus size, but it only took a little bit of effort. Another suggestion is Lane Bryant ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)), since large-sized clothing for women is what they specilize in. [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]

Teza answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 9:34 pm: The type of dress you could wear is the shorter type. Try on all of them until you find what fits you best. I think that dresses up to your knees and that are flowy on the bottom would be great for you. I don't have any websites for you so I'm sorry. [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
