I have a 2 GB Nano Ipod, and I've been uploading music from CDs onto it. My problem is, that I only have about 49 songs on it and it's almost full! Why is this? Also, if you upload a song from a CD, does it take up more space than a song you upload from, say, Itunes? Thanks!

LM answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 4:25 pm: I have a mini, and I did the exact same thing. I fgured out that it's because of quality level under importing preferences, put it at 128kps. your problem is likely that it's set at a higher quality level and taking up a lot more space.. if that still doesn't seem to work, reset your iPod with iPod Updater, make sure it has the latest software, and re-import all your songs. it shouldn't take that long. If it still doesn't hold more songs than 49, I'd take it back to the store, it could be defective. hope I helped! ♥ [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]

The reason youre almost out of space is because you got a nano instead of the 30 gig for 100 bucks more. Anyone else who is reading this don't buy the nano it is to small to actually be of any use and will get left in your pocket and washed then the people and Macintosh will laugh when you try to return it. gaamerxla89 answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 10:29 pm: hey, i had the same problem, and when it happend with me and my mini, i went searching thru itunes for a mp3 to wav. file converter and found it under a drop down bar, maybe that will work, but it takes like 20 mins to convert 500 songs, so im guessing it will take less than a minute for you
hope i helped a lil. and to answer your other question, no, if it is in the right file name (.wav), and not a burned cd, b/c sometimes files like that could be ripped and streched to fit file size requirements, but usually all copies of songs are relatively in the same MEGABYTE range. DancinCutie08 answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 10:07 pm: well its because if you get it from the comp its in mp3 form which is a smaller file. try getting your music from like limewire if you dont want to pay from itues because you will get alot more songs. i think if you save the cds onto your comp you can convert them to mp3 form but im not exactly sure how [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
