Wavy/Curly Hair.

Question Posted Saturday December 31 2005, 12:42 pm

Okay, my hair is naturally very wavy, but like..ugly waves. I've tried the scrunching thing countless times and I can't seem to get my hair to look the way it does on other ppl. My hair's very thick, this may be the cause of that, but idk. I use Brilliant Brunette Gel, and Spray. I've tried other sprays, but they left my hair sticky and messy.

Can anyone maybe tell me how LONG I should scrunch my hair for? And how MUCH gel should i use? After I'm done scrunching I usually use my diffuser in about an hour or so, and it dries my hair, but it never looks as wavy as I want it. It just looks like my natural hair, which I don't like. If you think you know what I'm doing wrong, please tell me.

Ok, i think that if you have thick hair then you should try a professional salon. I don't have wavy hair i have straight hair but my friend has wavy hair just like yours and i told her to use really good shampoos and conditioners and not use gels and sprays and it looks so much better. You could straighten it too and just let it be natural and not put so much in you hair if not any. If your hair is frizzy then you could use a frizz-free shampoo and conditioner

i think maybe you should straighten your hair. Get one of them straightening perms. Instead of making it wavy it makes it straight..Good Luck =)

since you have thick hair this is what i'd do:

wash your hair, and towel dry it .
then run your fingers though your hair right
above your ears to spearte your hair into 2 parts.
put a glob of gel in your hands and scrunch the bottom section. do it until you have that section done good.
then 1/2 way blow dry the bottom section.
and do the same to the top section.
then scrunch again. but do not part it this time.
and blow dry all the way, while blow drying scrunch it more.
after you blow dry it you can add some extra gel and scrunch it if need be.

TIP: if you are doing this the night before school, or if you have time to let it natural dry. do not blow dry all the way and let it natural dry some, it looks better.
i use the Assie gel, it works great

♥ let me know if you need more help.

Use mouse instead of gel. It dries faster and makes it less frizzy. I know blow-dryers are not the best thing for your hair but if you blow dry once you get it to look the way you want t will be much easier.

ok first of all you should use mouse it helps frizz then scrunch it after you apply that then get hair spray and spray it all over your hair and then scrunch it as you apply that and as you do that use the defuser like the blow dryer and scrunch it. its kinda hard to explain but email me back if it works kfucci@comcast.net

my hair is really really curly & i scrunch it a lot so it doesn't get wavy er frizzy soo i can help you out.

ok first what you do is take a shower. idk if you wanna do it before school, work, w/e. i do it before school & i take a shower in the morning. okay so do that & then after towel dry it. not totally, juss so it's damp & that it isn't soaking wet. then you need hair gel/hair moose. i use hair moose. its called tresemee(idk how to spell it) & it comes in a black bottle w/ green writing. it's not that expensive & you can get it at places like cvs, eckard, er grocery stores in your area. okay so you flip all your hair over and take like a handful and juss start scrunching it & then you flip your hair up & do it that way, etc etc. however you want. i think i scrunch it for about 5 mins er whenever it looks ready.

-hope that helped!♥

well what i do is i wash my hair then towel dry it. then i get like 2 big blobs of gel in my hands and just scrunch it for a few seconds and it usually looks pretty good. every once and a while while its drying just run your hands through and rescrunch some of the parnts that are straighter than others
