Save the receipt and tell him before he opens it that if he doesn't like it you have the receipt saved. Then he can take it back and get store credit and get what he wants. Some guys don't like clothes but it beats giving him a teddy bear with hearts on it or something. I'd say just go with it, especially if he's the type that cares a lot about his appearance or clothes.

lol... I always hated clothes as a gift. Ok, hate is too strong, since it really is the thought that counts, so let me rephrase it to- clothes ranked at the bottom of the present pool. Of course, like everyone said, some guys love it. What kind of person is he? Is he the type that takes special care what he wears, worries about his hair (lol), buys cologne, compares fashion tips etc etc? Or is he the sort of guy that that goes for comfort/ practicality first? If its the second group he probably wont be extatic. Either way dont worry about it its not that big a deal.

It really depends on what kind of boifriend you have !! if hes a prep or sum he WILL enjoy the gift i assure you that but if hes more into MANLY stuff ex.tools, hardware, fixing things, etc. he probably wouldnt like it !! ask him and tell him does he want to xchange it or nott !!

It honestly depends on your boyfriend's personality.

Is he more into a metropolitan-type of lifestyle? Does he enjoy shopping for clothes, buying clothes, being well-groomed, etc? Then he'll probably like clothes as a gift. Especially a polo from AE.

If he were a sports fan, he'd probably appreciate something like a jersey or sweatshirt.

If he was more of an all-out boy, he probably would just abhore clothing as a gift.

It all depends, really.

But let me tell you the truth, guys love getting anything no matter if they're going to use it or not. Guys like to know they're appreciated and loved, and nothing shows love more than the thought behind a gift. So whatever you got him, he'll appreciate it.

Make sure you give him loads of hugs, too. I'm sure he'd appreciate that the most. =D

I'll answer, I'm a guy, and I'll answer you honestly. He'll love the gag gift, but unless you know his style exactly, he might not like it, but he'll say this, "Oh, I like it" lol and then you say "Are you sure?" and he says "Yeah" lol, but don't worry, maybe he'll like it.

I love getting clothes as gifts!!..but I guess that's mainly because I'm a girl.

I think the polo would be a great gift (along with the gag gift..hahah).but maybe get him something else also?..like cologne..( I recommend Hollister OR Abercrombie&Fitch...yummy ;) OR you could surprise him/take him to dinner, etc..

I'm sure he'll like your gift no matter what you get him!
