cailoisa answered Monday December 26 2005, 11:33 am: First off, it is pretty unhealthy to lose weight that quickly. The safe rate is considered a max of 2 pounds a week, but you're safest at 1 pound a week.
Also, losing weight that quickly depends a bit on your weight to start with. A very skinny person won't lose a pound a day because there is just not that much to lose.
The only way I ever lost a pound a day was on the South Beach Diet, right after my baby was born. I lost over 40 pounds in one month, and I got incredibly sick.
It's probably not healthy for you. While you're at it, try going anorexic, why dontcha! (No, seriously, don't go anorexic.) The point is, you shouldn't do anything as dramatic as a pound a day. But there are other ways, I'm sure! Hope I helped! [ Dakmor's advice column | Ask Dakmor A Question ]

well good luck!

Mackenzie answered Sunday December 25 2005, 11:30 pm: It's not really practical. And heres why: one pound has the equivalent of 3,500 calories. You never included your age or height/weight (which might have been helpful), but we'll just use an example here, okay? A 14 year old, 5'5", 170 pound female who hardly ever exercises should intake approximately 2,096 calories per day. Now, to lose one pound a day, you would have to burn off your daily intake of 2,096 calories PLUS ANOTHER 3,500 calories. That equals out to hours and hours of exercise. Therefore, your hope of losing one pound per day isn't really feasible, I'm sorry to say. However, if you start yourself on a healthy diet including plenty of exercise you could see a loss of 10-20 pounds per month. That might not seem like much, but it breaks down to a loss of 3 pounds per week, or 1-2 pound per 4 days. And that is a great accomplishment!!
xxoBriannax answered Sunday December 25 2005, 11:24 pm: Yea, depending on how much you drink and eat. If you don't drink you won't have that fluid weight and so you will probably lose a pound or too. I don't think by not eating you will lose a pound in one day, maybe two days though. [ xxoBriannax's advice column | Ask xxoBriannax A Question ]
AGEHA answered Sunday December 25 2005, 11:24 pm: It is, if you want to lose water weight. Of course, that's just water, not fat, and as soon as you hydrate yourself again, you'll gain it all back. [ AGEHA's advice column | Ask AGEHA A Question ]
Igotamonopoly answered Sunday December 25 2005, 11:15 pm: Yes, everyone's weight fluctuates, but if you are loosing a pund a day regularly, it could be detrimental to your health.
Edit: If today you lost a pound, and then tomorrow another pound, and kept this up for a month, you would be 30 or 31 pounds lighter. I weigh 100 pounds exactly, so that would mean that a 5' girl would weigh 69 or 70 pounds, which is what I would weigh if I were anorexic, and that could kill me. When I weigh myself, sometimes I weigh 96 or 98, and sometimes, I weigh the full 100; it depends on what time of day it is (after dinner, before breakfast etc). Excercise and a healthy diet, like nutrisystem can help you, over time, to lose weight. It's not healthy to gain or lose weight as quickly as a pound a day.
