That should do something to her. But I guess it depends on how suicidal she is.
Go ahead. And try that. And if that doesn't get to her head. I would defenitley reccomned telling somebody.
AZlinz answered Thursday December 22 2005, 7:51 pm: Umm.. Thats a toughy.
Well I think you should just tell your friend that you really don't want her to hurt herself. So, when you talk to her tell her that she is really cool and tell her all the good qualities about her.
If that doesnt work, you really need to tell someone. You would feel really bad if your friend killed herself. You would always have that feeling like you could have saved her.

muffinbutt answered Wednesday December 21 2005, 2:55 pm: You can't. You need to tell someone.
Telling is a good idea not only because measures can be taken to prevent your friend from offing herself, but also because your friend will realize the seriousness of the situation, and also realize someone cares about her enough to risk her anger by telling someone. That alone could be enough to keep her from wanting to commit suicide again.
(Oh, and if you do tell someone, your friend will be furious with you for about three days. Then she'll be grateful. I know because it happened to me -- I told the authorities when a friend of mine tried to kill herself, and she hated me for exactly three days, then she forgave me.) not_your_star34 answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 7:52 pm: Well, tell her that you love her, that she's got friends and family that love her, and that you'll always be there for her. Tell her that her loved ones, including you, would be sad and mourn if she killed herself. Tell her that she will get through this, and that you will help her get better and happier. Every cloud has a silver lining.
BUT TELL SOMEONE. Did she tell you not to tell anyone? I can understand that you want to be a good friend and keep secrets, but TELLING AN ADULT WOULD MAKE YOU A BETTER FRIEND. By telling someone, you could be saving her life. Tell your parents, and maybe your parents, her parents, and you can talk and you can tell them about your friend's suicide threat.
Please tell someone. SHE NEEDS PROFESSIONAL HELP. If you don't tell her parents, the worst could happen, and you don't want to be the one who didn't listen to her threat. I'm not saying that it will happen, but anything is possible.
If you care about your friend, you need to tell her parents.
Jazz answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 7:40 pm: Well let me tell you, many people can say that they are going to kill themselves. But when they have the knife in their hand and to their wrist, it's really hard to go trough with it. Many people think they can do it but dont have the guts. Im not saying your friend wont do it, and that you shouldnt do nothing
Because even if she's not going to do it, this is a time when she needs support. Take her out somewhere, or just sleep over at her house. Spending quality time reminding her of how some people care about her might help. Remind her that life will get better, but she wont feel better if she dies. She wont feel nothing at all. Suggest a hobbie for the two of you. Keeping her mind occupied on other things will help greatly. [ Jazz's advice column | Ask Jazz A Question ]
