Yea it shows that you didn't put alot of thought and effort into your gift shopping. Some of your friends might get offended, it all depends on the person who is receiving the gift.

No it's not a bad idea. I did that one year because I didn't know what to get everyone, so I just got them the same thing but it was a bit different in a way.

Nahh, it's not really a bad idea.
But if you're worried about it, this is what i do...
For all my closest/most worthwhile friends, I get something personalized/different from everyone else. For all the others, i give them all the same cute but inexpensive gift.
It's all good.
