twistedsister17 answered Saturday November 19 2005, 9:50 pm: I wish i could tell you there was a straightener that straightened hair fast and easy without damaging your hair. Using a starightener or curler every day is going to damage your hair. It applies so much heat on your hair that your hair becomes flat and stiff, kind of like your skin when you get sun burned except your hair. I think you should consider if you really want to look like that or not. I love straight hair, but I've decided that it really isn't worth it to me. You can try ConAir straighteners, but it really depends on what type of hair you have.

The best iron in the business today is the Chi iron. It costs about $200 and everyone who has it is extremely satisfied with it. I'm saving up for one. [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]

iTS_ONLiA_MATTEROFTiME answered Saturday November 19 2005, 8:13 pm: Y'know, I have the exact same problem.
Here's what I do.. I relax my hair. It doesn't hurt it, believe me.
It's a long process, but if you have the patients, you can have straight hair for up to 5 months.
I have: Soft & Beautiful.
You can buy it at any Walgreen's. And the great thing is, it's cheap. I only spent 7 dollars on it. You can find it with a lot of the black woman products.
I know that I've always loved how black woman's hair looked, when it's straight. And I found that and thought I'd give it a try.
You should give it a try. It won't damage your hair, the kind itself is gentle on color treated hair, or previously damaged.
