Oh man, when I first made out with my boyfriend I was TERRIFIED. It sounds stupid but I was because, it's a new person and as long as you really like him & he really likes you it will go along smoothly :)

It's not scary. If you're comfortable with the person you're kissing, you'll be fine. I know you're going to think you can't make out with anyone and your going to be a bad kisser, but really, that's all in your head. Everyone thinks that when it comes to making out and kissing. They all think they're going to suck at it.
I know this is probably not much help, but kissing really does come naturally. Just go with the flow, it'll come naturally, I promise.

Leading up to doing it is kinda scary, yeah. But once you're actually kissing it's like the coolest thing in the world. The "scary" part is anticipating it. After that your instincts just pretty much take over and it's fun.

I would say it's more thrilling than scary. It's okay and very natural to be nervous, but don't be scared. It may feel a little awkward at first because it's new, but you'll feel better and better about it the more you do it. Don't worry about being bad, you'll do just fine! Good luck!
