BlueEyedBlondie725 answered Monday November 14 2005, 12:03 am: Hey sweetie.
Aww, thats terrible! I'm sorry.
Try talking to a close friend when you want to cut, because usually when you cut is when you're hurting or whatever, so express your feelings by telling a friend how you feel instead of cutting yourself.
And also, put a rubber band around your wrists and whenever you feel like cutting, snap the rubberband.
And if you don't feel like talking a to a close friend, there are hundrends of advicenators that are here to help you out! ♥
I hope this helps and if you need anymore help, just leave a message in my inbox!
MELiixMARiiE answered Sunday November 13 2005, 11:05 pm: well first of all you need to think of the reason behind which you are cutting and then think of better ways to solve it. Confront it head on, talk to a teacher a parent, a friend somebody. And then solve that problem. And then I'd tell your parents that you cut yourself and maybe have them help you get a counselor or go to a group or something. I'm so happy that you've decided to stop before it could get so much more worse. And just remember theres so many better ways to let your anger out. Hit a pillow, write a song/poem, juts draw, listen to your favorite music, go out and get it out of your mind and have fun with your friends, talk to someone friends, parents, anyone. Even the people on advicenators. That's why we are here. If you ever have any problems, just tell us and we'll help. I hope I helped! =]
AKSherma answered Sunday November 13 2005, 10:17 pm: I have worked with a lot of "cutters" and the most of the time the reason for cutting is to gain control. Often there is an inner pain, whether conscious or subconscious, thta they are not able to control so they cut themselves b/c that is a pain that they are able to control. Sometimes they need to make themselves feel something physical for some mental anguish that they may be going through. It is often not a sign that a person wants to committ suicide (we don't admit cutters to the psych ward), but it is a sign of something inside that needs to be explored and corrected. The best way to do this is to contact your school's psychological services (if you're in college) or to see a guidance counselor/nurse (if you're in secondary school). There are also hotlines that you can call if you want to get help. The best place to start is to call the local Children's Hospital (less than 18yo). Or you can call the United Way Helpline who may help you a bit more: 18002334357.
I find it very commendable that you'd like to take a stand and better yourself. Hopefully you're able to find some useful information within those links. I wish you luck. (: [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
Maryberry0506 answered Sunday November 13 2005, 9:16 pm: first of all realize why you are cutting yourslef confront the problem and how it could really hurt you liek your friends might treat you different, your parents might notice,.. etc.. and try to get help form a friedn that you really trust to talk to and let it all out then taking the pain out by cutting or even if you dont trust anyone tehn write it in a diary ( i know might sound weird)... bcuz really the only way you can get this to stop is making yourself stop and no one else and try a support group they don`t make you do anything but realize why shouldnt do this.. *mary [ Maryberry0506's advice column | Ask Maryberry0506 A Question ]
