I need help
I don't know everything that is wrong with me, but I know i need help. I'm a total mess and I don't sleep at night. Every night. A fourteen year old girl should not have to sleep with her sister and mother every night so she doesn't wake up everynight breathing badly and shaking. that isn't how things are supposed to be. I hold my breath then let it out, take a drink. type some more, talking to people keep me awake because i know as soon as i try to sleep hell will come.

Amys answered Thursday November 10 2005, 5:06 pm: Is it when you lie down you feel discomfort, or when your just asleep. If its when you lying down it could be a medical issue which you will need to consult your doctor with. Other was is to not even think about it before you go to bed. Your obviously scared of going to sleep because of this, but your mind controls everything, if you think "i dont want to go to sleep because ill stop breathing"..its more likely that it will happen, your manifesting it yourself. When you in bed, read a book, or liten to music until you fall asleep. Have you heard of Reiki..? Its a healing process that helps to relax the body, if you want i can send you more information about this, another alternative is hyponsis. [ Amys's advice column | Ask Amys A Question ]

Maybe they can refer you to a conselor, and maybe your doc could prescribe you some meds to help you sleep. I'm on trazodone, and it works wonders. brokenagain answered Thursday November 10 2005, 12:29 pm: Your mom knows about this but is not getting you the proper treatment you need? You definetly need to speak to someone or even see a doctor. Talk to your mom and let her know this is serious [ brokenagain's advice column | Ask brokenagain A Question ]
happy-helper answered Thursday November 10 2005, 11:40 am: Right, you've dignosed yourself by noticing the symptoms you have which is good. It's obviously not a happy experience but why don't you see a counciler? They have to deal with very serious cases i.e. suicide thoughts. Your mother is involved so why not talk to her about seeing someone who could help before this develops even more. Just a suggestion, good luck.

dhrutts answered Thursday November 10 2005, 7:21 am: Hi There,
Yes your right you do need help, however it seems you have a medical problem as you mention having difficulty breathing now that only the doctor can help you. We can only advice you and be there for you.
Speak to a counsellor if that will help you and also sit down with your sister and mother and explain to them how you feel.
