I am not sure this is the right category for this but I figured its all pretty much the same thing. Ok here is the deal. I feel so large. I have a big butt and my stomache seems to be getting bigger. I don't have like fat fat but i just feel so big compared to all my friends who have extremely small waists. I'm about 5"3 and range 110-113 pounds i believe but who knows? I might even weigh 120. Anyways I feel really big and I need some major diet help. I need exercise tips that will help me. My goal is to lose like 10 pounds. I am not anorexic but tis time to find something to do. I will rate high for good answers.

Alin75 answered Thursday November 10 2005, 3:07 pm: Ok, the simple way to look at weight loss is intaking fewer calories than one uses. This means you can either 1. increase your excercise level, 2. eat fewer calories 3. elevate your metabolism so you naturally burn more calories even while you sleep.
So, since you are not fat, I would not worry too much about specific diet programs etc. Just eat balanced meals, low on saturated fat (eg from fatty meats, butter, cheap cooking oils etc). Eat many small meals every day (5 or so), but dont overeat. This will help elevate your metabolism. Time the last meal so its at least a couple of hours before bedtime (so you go to bed feeling just a little bit hungry).
Then increase your excercise level slightly and the pounds will come off safely and smoothly. Just so everyone on this site can hate me, here are some *wrong* facts about exercise: 1. Crunches/sit ups make you lose weight on your stomach (they do NOT... humans are unable to target fat loss from a specific area its that simple... crunches build muscle on your stomach) 2. running/aerobics is the best weight loss exercise... wrong... weight/resistance training is the best because it elevates your metabolism for long periods of time (running only for about 60 mins after u stop)... also every pound of muscle you gain requires some daily calories to upkeep- this means less work from more weight loss.
Anyhow, since you dont have a problem as such, i would suggest you pick a sport you think its fun and just follow my diet tips. Otherwise if you think you need serious help then the answer is resistance training... either way good luck. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]
LOL_x0x answered Thursday November 10 2005, 3:02 pm: I think you should watch what you're eating, but don't go crash dieti becuase that will really hurt your body and i think you don't have to loose a lot of weight, maybe not even the 10. If you feel large, just think, 'I'm not big.' You also should try doing some crunches. but don't over do it or you won't get results.
hope this helped

- Sit ups are good for the stomach, very good in fact!
- At home exercise, i.e. buying a fitness tape/dvd?

Who cares about if you arent as little as your friends. Chill out because when girls are too skinny, its not attractive and it looks immature like a 10 year old...you are fine..so stop saying you are large [ Shortcake22's advice column | Ask Shortcake22 A Question ]

First of all, you are not fat! 5"3 and about 120 pnds. is not fat! I feel big around my friends too but trust me its normal. If you really want to lose weight you can...Take a swimsuit magazine and cut out the pictures and tape them to JUNK food. ONLY JUNK FOOD! Remember being skinny isn't everything, you want to be healthy. You could also try going for a jog in the morning, it dosnt have to be a long jog but just something to get you going. We all look different. And you can be skinny without being a stick. Trust me.
Hope you achieve your goal.
askERN answered Wednesday November 9 2005, 10:11 pm: For exercising do crunches everynight, run every morning and do pushups(they also help your stomach) then in about a month if you keep doing that you will look fine in no time!
