RAZORburnn

Question Posted Wednesday November 9 2005, 7:26 pm

Ok so this morning I shaved my legs and i had goosebumps so i kind of messed up my legs REALLY bad and they hurt like crazy. Plus they are all red and bumpy. How can I get rid of this AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. And does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this in the future?

And what is the best razor out there ( i have extremely sensitive skin) and shaving cream. <3

i hate when this happens here are a few options:

1. aloevera, works amazing and feels good.
2. lotion, when choosing a lotion for this go for a non scented, non glittering one such as aveno or jergens

when trying to prevent this:
1. it helps to use a shaving gel or soap or evern shampoo or conditioner, it makes a smooth surface for the razor to glide over and makes it alot easier on your legs

i find one of the best razors to be the schick intuitoin (you can buy sensitive skin ones) or the venus razor!

hope i helped <3

Ooooh, the dreaded razor burn. How awful, we all hate it. I've taken it upon myself to make a list of tips for you:
- NEVER dry shave.
- Find a shaving cream/gel you're happie with.
- If you can't go out and purchase shaving gel, use a bar of soap and lather up REALLY good, but keep it moist and lathered.. don't let it dry out.
- If you CAN purchase shaving gel, I recommend 'Skintimate's Shaving Gel' or 'Barbasol Shaving Cream".
- Use a good razor, and change it often, if not EVERY time.
- Yes, disposable razors are fine.
- After shaving, you could apply lotion or baby oil to help moisturize, and assist in preventing razor burn.
- DO NOT shave daily!! Try every other two days or so.

As for what brand of razor, I use BIC for LADIES, and it has never betrayed me. :)

♥ OHEMGEE!!! all you need is some cold cresm..BUT THATS NOT ALL!!! put it like in a cup or leave it in the container and heat it up in the microwave for like 35 seconds..The razor I use is venus or intuition..venus is really good..but with intuition it has someting in it where like all you need is water and no shaving cream..the shaving cream that i think is really good is white rain..but sometimes when i dont have shaving cream i just use some soap :D they both work well but since you have sensitive skin replace the shaving cream with DOVE soap cause dove is good for sensitive skin...sry if i wasnt much help

I think you hould use thr intuition and get it with the package that says 'sensitive skin'. Also, you should buy Aveeno cream, again marked 'sensitive skin' and use that after you shave and have dried off your legs.
hope this helepd

happy-helper answered Thursday November 10 2005, 1:07 pm:
Use a moisturising shaving cream and any razor out there. It's the technique that depends on the hurting. ALWAYS wet your legs before you shave, you probably got the redness due to having dry legs/dry razor (don't worry, we've all done it!). Never go up and down with the blade, only up toward the knee, stop, then repeat.

Good luck! And the redness and pain should go in a few days!

They make razors and shaving cream for sensitive people. I have the same problem. I shave my legs when i take a bath and it doesn't give me the read bumps and hurt like it would when i take a shower and do it. when you get out of the bath and dry off put some lotion on your legs. it helps. i hope i helped.
