I am like that to and i have an 8th grade grad. dance coming up. Don't feel shy, just dance and have a good time. Realize that this dance is only gonig to come once and you should make the most of it! Think why you get nervous and dont think your gonna look bad czause chances are, people aren't gonna care because everyone will be having a great time!

Awww, you're like the Billy Elliot of 2005!
But seriously, practice makes perfect. Remember, it isn't going to be you on the dancefloor and it's not a test to see who can dance the best. Start swaying side to side then get those hands and those hips moving, mister!
Good luck though! :)

number one rule...just relax! dont worry about other people looking at you just listen to the music and let your body just move to the music. i do admit, if youre not comfortable its kind of hard to just dance thinking everyone is looking at you. but if you just imagine youre in your own little world it doesnt matter. just have fun.

p.s. people will probably not even be looking...they'll be too obsessed on how theyre dancing!!

[♥ X0X0 good luck]

if you're afraid to dance in front of people, youre not alone. but it's better to dance and look like an idiot, rather than stand in a corner and look scared. The best thing to do is when youre hanging out with a bunch of your girlfriends(I dont know if youre a guy or girl sorry) but when youre over someones house, just play some dance music and just dance so you can see how they move and try to learn from them. OR if you have a best friend who you trust, ask them to teach you. Also, you can learn alot from dance videos, so on your own time you can copy what they do. Good luck :)

You know you can dance, and this dance will only happen once. Dance your heart out like no one is watching. Pretend it's just you and your mirror. I used to be so scared to dance, and it turns out, everyone loved my dancing style. Don't be afraid honey. Show your spirit and dance your heart out.

just to tell ya your not the only one lots of people dont kno how to dance and they just kinda move to the beat. Nobody will be paying that much attention to what you are doing i dont think veryone just does there own thing, and if all else fails just copy what your other friends are doing.

practice in front of a mirror. then you'll be used to seeing yourself dance. then dance with some of your close friends. (like if they're over or whatever just randomly blast music and have your own little dance party) you won't be nervous after a while.

p.s. if you stay in a big group dancing at the prom, no one will be looking RIGHT at you dancing, so there's nothing to be worried about. besides, everyone else is worried about what they look like too. = )
