i have aim and i just added someone as a buddy today and i got this messege saying "{buddy} is idle". What does that meen? Dont tell me im dumb unless you want a 1

it means they are still online but have not been at their computer or done anything with their computer for a certain amount of time, i tihnk its 20 minutes. so if you talk to them and they dont talk aback dont get mad , they just probably walked away form the computer and did osmething else forgetting they were online

That just means that your buddy is online but they haven't been online or their computer for a certain period of time.

It just means they haven't touched their mouse/keyboard for a certain amount of time (usually 10-20 minutes). It just informs you that your buddy is not sitting at their computer, and have no had any activity in the slighest with it since 20 minutes BEFORE it told you they were idle, make sense? (:

It means your buddy is online but has not talked to anyone for usually 20 minutes or more. Their names will go gray when they are idle.

It means the person is signed in but there has been no activity on his/her AOL AIM account in a while. Idle means to sit still and leave the engine going if in a car. This is the same thing for sitting still and doing nothing here.

idle is basically like being away without a message it means that the person who's idle hasn't touched/moved their mouse for like 15 min. or so

Belive me it took me awile to figure that one out my self but i asked a friend so that is what it means

It means that they have been inactive and aways from their computer for more than twenty minutes, at least. Basically, if you instant message this user, you probably won't get a response until they return.
