Mackenzie answered Sunday October 30 2005, 12:24 am: This is a big problem for me also, so I know how you feel; I've been there, and it's not good. I reccommend using an antiperspirant deodorant [such as Suave], followed by regular baby powder. The antiperspirant helps to reduce sweating, or at least is said to, but in our case... never does. Then the baby powder will close the pores of your under arm -- more or less trapping the sweat in, so to speak. Honestly, this almost ALWAYS works for me, but there *ARE* days when it's simply not good enough, and that can be a pain in the butt, so I usually make a point of carrying some sort of jacket. Hearing that, there's this product people are always talking about on this site [but I believe that's from "Monkey See, Monkey Do"], but it's even advertised on television. It's called CertainDri. Now, they say it can be purchased at Wal-greens, RiteAid, CVS, and Walmart, however, EVERY SINGLE TIME I've been to the store looking for it, I've never seen it on the shelves. Naturally, this leads me to ask an employee where I can find it, and they *always* tell me they've NEVER heard of it, and they do not carry the product... which just leaves you speechless and with a feeling of, 'what now?' If the problem persists, perhaps you should consult a physician, who can supply you with proper medication. Also, he can give you shots that kind of close up your pores, so sweating never really happens again. I'm not shore if that's an option for you, but I recommend asking him for more information. But whatever you decide to do, goodluck from someone who knows EXACTLY what you're going through!! [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
ncblondie answered Saturday October 29 2005, 4:20 pm: If you're just using deodorant, that may be your problem. Deodorant only masks the smell of sweat. Look for ones that are labeled anti-perspirant. They're formulated to help keep you from sweating.
If regular antiperspirants aren't working, you may need to talk to your doctor. There is a medical condition that causes some people to sweat excessively. They can prescribe you specially formulated antiperspirants that are much stronger than what you can buy at the store. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
Advicelady6798 answered Saturday October 29 2005, 2:50 pm: I had the same problem but when i started using dove it really helps and you dont seat at all. It really works it may smell like baby powder but you dont seat because the ingredients in it help absorb sweat. [ Advicelady6798's advice column | Ask Advicelady6798 A Question ]
xoredsoxnation9 answered Saturday October 29 2005, 12:26 pm: I have the same problem, it sucks, i know how yu feel. Yu may have hyperhydrosis, which is just over active sweat glands. Dont worry, its not dangerous or anything. I recommend seeing a dermatologist, they prescribed me something called Drysol. If that doesnt work, yu might just get Botox shots every 4-6 months. Seeing a dermatologist is yur best option. I hope everything works out for yu, drop one in my inbox if ya need anything else<33 [ xoredsoxnation9's advice column | Ask xoredsoxnation9 A Question ]

naimee answered Saturday October 29 2005, 10:22 am: Hey ♥
Certain Dri works really really good. You put that on at night, though. During the day, I think you should get a deoderent called, "Arrid Extra Extra Dry" You can get it at any pharmacy, and works like magic, trust me.

Karen answered Saturday October 29 2005, 9:53 am: You need to use an anti-perspirant, since an ordinary deoderant is not strong for you. Certain Dri is a recommended anti-perspirant that will make you sweat less and it works. You can purchase this product at any local pharmacy for under ten-dollars. If you don't want to purchase Certain Dri, then try a deoderant by Dove. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
