period.

Question Posted Tuesday October 25 2005, 8:01 pm

I started my period back in June. This month I got it on October 10-16. Then I got it again October 19-21. It stopped for a few more days and came back again on 24th ( It only lasted a day ) Is there a reason for gettin it 3 times in one month? I know they will be irregular for a while but is this normal?

some periods are close together, and some farther apart. i'd say since you just started they will be irregular for a while...everybody's is. the one day on the 24th was probably the same period as the 19-21. this happened to me one time when i first started and it just happens because your body is trying to get everything that's going on worked out. so its ok if it stops for a day or two and comes back to finish up. dont worry what is going on is normal

No, this isn't normal. Tell your mom and have her get you an appointment with the doctor. Sounds like you have irregular periods and you need medication. Don't be embarressed about it though. I hope I helped. <3 Allie x0x

One of my friends started getting her period for two weeks at a time every two weeks and ended up having to get an operation done on her thyroid gland. Her body was releasing the wrong amounts of hormones and it made her menstruation cycle go berserk. After the operation everything went back to normal. Since you just started your period what you are experiencing may not be a problem at all but you definitely need to talk to a doctor about it if it continues just to make sure. Good luck!

You may just be continually having your period for a two-week period. Sometimes you are heavy, sometimes not. This might be the case. It's not normal to have a two week period though so talk to your Mom.
It's also not normal to have a spread out period... you REALLY need to talk to a doctor or your mother.
