ugh!

Question Posted Friday October 21 2005, 7:38 am

OMG!I told one of my friends (we just became friends this year) that I liked this guy. He is kind of a flirt but not too bad, and what happens the next day? She flirts with him more than usual and he didnt even talk to me once! Ugh how can I steal him back from the B-word!!!!!!!!!

omg i so cant believe your friend did that! ok well anyways on with your question...maybe if your school has a dance coming up, that would definitly be a time to flirt and socialize with him. and if you could get him to dance a few slow ones then that would for sure give you some time without having to worry about your "friend" to butt in. another thing is if you have any classes with him without her in it you can try and talk to him there, maybe pass him a couple of notes "just to be cute" sort of a thing. in the halls it would definitly be good to talk to him like a friend, and since he's a flirt he'll most likely hit on you, so then that's your que to start doing it back. once you've done this for a little while he might start to like you, and your friend will be history in his opinion.

Instead of waiting for him to come and talk to you, you should go to him and flirt back. Your friend has a problem with peoples happiness. Her way of getting rid of your happiness is to flirt with the guy you like. Ask him if he wants to hang out with you at the movies or something fun.

First of all, you're going a wrong direction. Listen, don't try to fight with her to try to get a guy. Trust me, I've been through this too many times so I know this is true: Never fight over guys. It's not worth it, and it'll never be worth it. Sit her down one day and ask her why she wasn't talking to you that day and why she kept flirting with him. I know that you're jealous, and no girl is afraid to admit it. So please, do me a favor and don't get into a fight with one of your chick friends. It won't turn out good in the end.

Well.... Is it obvious that she is flirting. I mean do you think that the guy really knows that she is flirting. Does he like it? If he does than (without overdoing it) do a little flirting yourself. But try not to seem like you are trying to compete for his attention. If he doesn't like the fact that she is flirting with him, why dont you just try talking to him about things that you know that he is interested in. Get his attention away from her. Music will usually be a good topic. Find out what kinds of bands he likes. Oh and dont forget to be yourself, no one likes it when you seem like a fake. If you see that he starts to become interested in what you have to say... slowly flirt a little more..(be subtle)

Good luck,

Eva J
