The English language has a number of inconsistencies. I honestly couldn't tell you why it's like that. I mean, why do we park in a driveway, and drive in a parkway? It's just how it is in this language. Sorry I couldn't be more help. ]
There's probably some silly rule about it. "In the night," just sounds weird compared to the others. ]
Because the English language is the most messed up language there is. None of it makes sense.
You could just as easily say in the night, but it seems so much easier to say "at night".
But then, when you say "at morning", "at afternoon", "at evening" it doesn't sound right. Good question. Ask your Language Arts teacher.
All I can come up with is that the English Language is stupid. And not even the person that invented the English language can speak it properly. ]
Well, if you think about it, "at night" sounds better than "in the night", so maybe that's why, because it sounds better! Haha, I don't know, good question! Hope I helped! ♥ Erin ]
how the hell are we supposed to know ...sytupid people made the english language and they made a bunch of rules that are broken like i before e ....they obviously were on crack or somethnig ....and really who cares no one so just forget about it
not trying 2 b mean but wtf it dosent even matter ]
Well, you could say "In the night." The normal phrase would be 'at night,' but it really doesn't make any sense in its literal meaning. Sorry, English is messed up. ]
